The participation of children and young people is a cornerstone of our action. Therefore, we are working to give them the tools they need to become agents of change of their own lives, but also in their communities and for a fairer world.

“In my country, there are as many women as men but they are still considered a minority because they have less power and privileges. I was destined for an early marriage. I fight every day to break this fate and I am now in secondary school!

My mobilisation within the Youth Council has enabled me to acquire my own identity, to claim it and to be proud of it. My dream is to change the mindset of girls and women so that they dare to become independent. As the first generation of my family to know how to read and write, I can help my parents and the children of my community.”

Farida, 18, has been advocating for children’s rights in India since the age of 9.
