Our actions in Peru

Terre des Hommes Suisse is actively engaged in Peru to improve the lives of children in vulnerable situations. In Lima, our organisation works with national platforms, ministries and other NGOs to strengthen policies for preventing and dealing with violence against children, and organises campaigns against child trafficking. At the same time, we are carrying out sustainable development education initiatives, reaching over 10,000 children in schools in Lima and Cuzco, while promoting access to free, quality education for children in precarious situations.

Preventing violence and exploitation against children and trafficking in girls

The work of our partners enables children in precarious situations to have access to free, quality education. Some of our projects include reinforced learning to keep children in school and prevent them from dropping out.

Education for sustainable development and solidarity

TdH Suisse carries out sustainable development education activities for 10,000 children in schools in Lima and Cuzco, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and local partners. This programme is a replication of the awareness-raising initiatives to promote education for sustainable development among children in Switzerland as part of the study plan for the French-speaking part of the country, reaching more than 75% of primary school pupils in the canton of Geneva every year.

Prevention and advocacy

In Lima, TdH Suisse participates in national platforms aimed at improving public policies to prevent and deal with violence against children.

Alongside ministries and other international NGOs, TdH Suisse organises national campaigns to prevent child trafficking.
